•A lexical set is a group of words with the same topic function or form.

syntactic lexical set adverbs.

John Wells (1982) as a convenient way of identifying vowel categories not by symbols, but by a set of words in which they occur.

• Advantages:• It’s easier to retrieve words from memory .• Helps learners to see how knowledge can be organized• Makes the meaning of words clearer by seeing how they are related• The learning of 1 item reinforce the learning of another
