CREATING A TEACHER WEBSITE: PART 1

Objectives

Create a Weebly account

Understand and be able to navigate the Weebly dashboard

Add key elements to website

Go to: http://education.weebly.com

Fill out important information

Pick any theme –You can change it later

• Keep it simple so students will

be able to remember it • ALL of your classes can access

information from one homepage

• Example: www.msolahspanish.weebly.com

Choose the URL of your website

1. Change the name of the website to something catchy

2. Add a headline and description

Notice: This website starts out with 3 pages: Home, About, ContactWe will edit each page by clicking on them

4. Drag and drop to add multiple images

6. Drag and drop to add a map to your website

9. Drag and drop to add embed codes from other sites (Ex. Youtube, Slideshare, etc.)

Update About and Contact page

Drag Contact form to Contact page and update your information

Add picture and “about me” information to your About page

Create a new page

1. Go to Pages

2. Click Add and choose Standard Page

3. Name page

4. Drag the page in the side bar to move it up or down to reorder pages in navigation bar

5. If you don’t want the page to show yet – click “Hide page in navigation”

6. Hit “Save and Edit”
