WHY SHOULD I ATTEND A SUPPORT GROUP: Attending a group is an opportunity to connect with others who have had a loss and are
experiencing a similar grief. It is an opportunity to express yourself, if you choose, in a safe and
friendly environment. It is an opportunity to experience hope that you will feel better again. Most
people report feeling better even after attending their first group session. The support group is one of
the most effective and beneficial ways of helping you cope with your loss.
