While creating my magazine, I learnt how to maintain a ratio aspect by clicking the ‘maintain ratio’ tool while expanding an image. I also learnt how to turn an image black and white and change the exposure and brightness of the picture making the image stand out more.

I also learn how to make a shape or image more opaque by changing the transparency percentage in the layers toolbar to help the text stand out more.

While making the contents page, I learnt how to create effects on images. All 3 of my images have been ‘Posterized’ to give them a unique, coloured pixelated effect by going to ‘Image’, ‘Adjustments’ then ‘Posterize’.

I also learned how to cut out images such as the ‘Rizzle Kicks’ log, without having a rough pixelated edge. I did this by pasting the logo into a blank Photoshop document with no background, then going to ‘Image’, ‘Adjustments’ and ‘Colour Range’, the clicking on the black background and clicking Ok.

With my DPS, I learnt how to overlay text above an image, without the image detracting from the main article. With the ‘N’, I changed the opacity levels to 70%, and dragged the layer underneath the text layer and aligned it with the edge of the left hand column. With the picture, I changed the opacity to 90% and placed the font at the bottom of the picture to make it easier to read. I then changed the word ‘life’, in the quote, to the same colour as the ‘N’ to help it stand out and fit into the article.
