Blacktip Reef Shark
By : Ben R.
Welcome to my PowerPoint on Blacktip Reef Sharks. Enjoy!!!
C’mon let’s get started
The Blacktip Reef Shark is generally brown on top, white on it’s underside and of course it’s fins are black. It is covered with cartilage. It weighs 30.9 .lb’s and it is 6 feet long. It is also classified as a fish and is cold-blooded.
The Blacktip Reef Shark lives in the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific with temperatures of 70-80 degrees. They swim, moving in a swaying motion. They don’t migrate or hibernate because they line in warm water.
The Blacktip Reef Shark eats reef fish,
Sturgeon and Mullet.
They are carnivores, not omnivores.
Let’s eat!
Blacktips like most other sharks use their teeth to eat and protect themselves. They of course, use their teeth to bite at attackers. Though they have sharp teeth, they are not considered a real threat.
Where did everyone go? I’m
hungry! The Blacktip Reef Shark gives live birth and gives from 2-4 a litter. The young are called pups. Blacktip Reef Sharks can be found in water as shallow as 30cm.!!!
They can jump the whole way out of the water and are one of the only sharks that can do so. Blacktips are often curious about snorklers and divers.
The Blacktip Reef Shark is an endangered species. It is an endangered species because it ends up as catch of other fisheries. It also is used in shark fin soup.
TASTY OR NOT TASTY
My Comments on the Blacktip Reef Shark
I think this animal is really cool and that an effort should be put forward to save it. I had a really good time studying it and I’m glad I picked it for my PowerPoint.
Thanks for watching and have a nice day!
