5 reasons for NOT

repeating a Kindy or Prep Year

1. My child has some difficulties in 1 or 2 areas only and achieves at or above level in the other learning areas.

2. The school is confident that my child will be able to cope with the next years expectations.

3. The school is proactive and has extra support in place to focus on the targeted areas of concern.

4. The school is advising me on how to help my child develop these understandings and skills.

5. My child will be extremely distressed at having to repeat.

This child is not likely to derive significant benefit from repeating a Kindy or

Prep Year.

5 reasons forrepeating a Kindy or Prep

Year.

1. My child will not be overly distressed at repeating this year as the school/centre has shared some great strategies to talk though the issues and together we will prepare my child to have some more time to develop the skills required.

2. My child is a ‘just eligible’ boy. 3. My child’s strengths and

difficulties have been identified and are well understood by the school.

4. My child will have the gift of time to develop academic, social and emotional confidence by being in a class where they can succeed.

5. The culture of this school is supportive of students who repeat Kindy/Prep and are proactive in sharing appropriate strategies and processes to support my child.

This child is most likely to benefit from the gift of time by repeating Kindy or Prep

year.
