CDL B – Bus Driver: Transit, Intercity What does this career do?
Drive bus or motor coach, including regular route operations, charters, and private carriage. May assist passengers with baggage. May collect fares or tickets.
What are some Typical Tasks?
• Drive vehicles over specified routes or tospecified destinations according to time schedules, complying with traffic regulations to ensure that passengers have a smooth and safe ride.
• Inspect vehicles, and check gas, oil, andwater levels prior to departure.
• Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
• Assist passengers, such as elderly or disabled individuals, on and off bus, ensure they are seated properly, help carry baggage, and answer questions about bus schedules or routes.
• Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions.
• Record information, such as cash receiptsand ticket fares, and maintain log book.
How well does it pay?

CDL A–Heavy & Tractor Trailer Truck Driver What does this career do?
Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to unload truck. Requires commercial drivers' license.
What are some Typical Tasks?
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety,and emergency equipment is in good working order. •Maneuver trucks into loading or unloadingpositions, following signals from loading crew andchecking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. •Collect delivery instructions from appropriatesources, verifying instructions and routes. •Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable stateand federal regulations. •Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers. •Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations,or damage to the vehicles. •Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons,including tractor-trailer combinations, to transportand deliver products, livestock, or other materials.
