2. Proposal

  • Interview PR professionals in the workplace to gain hands on experience and to broaden our professional networks.
  • Use online media to attract and share news with the public, potential members, current members, and members of other chapters.
  • Develop relationships with future co-workers and current professionals through regional events and workshops.
  • Forming your own chapter enhances your education, expands your professional network, and launches your career in Public Relations.

3. Professional Experience in the workplace.

  • Visit PR firms for first hand experience in the field

      • Sit in on meetings
      • Set up internship
  • Contact the PRSSA
    • Let them know we want to create a chapter through our university
    • Ask about events and other organizations we could become involved in

4. What is a QR Code?

  • A QR code is a code used to take a piece of information from transitory media and people are able to put the code into their smart phones
      • Seen in magazines, billboards, web pages, t-shirts

  • QR codes benefit our group by:
      • Public can receive our information quickly
      • Brings out curiosity for our club
      • Easy way to get out a lot of information without the use of a computer
      • Convenient and free with the download of some type of QR reader app on your smartphone.

14. In Conclusion

  • In order to learn more about Public Relations we need to get our students involved with PR firms, events, internships, and workshops.
  • Creating a workshop and a school event can get students involved with their major in Public Relations and can get them associated with more hands on work experiences.
  • Being involved in PR events and chapters can promote professional leadership.
