MONITORING
Equipment may not be available for all hazards but you can use patient signs & symptoms to make an estimate
DECON SOLUTIONS
Most times soap & water provide emergency decontamination
For biologicals use 0.5% hypochlorite solution
After toxin is identified refer to protocols for that toxin for decon
DECONTAMINATION TRIAGE
Decision should be made to triage by worst to least contamination or by most to least symptomatic
KEY SAFETY ISSUES
Primary issue is secondary devices designed to harm first respondersCare can be taken by

INCIDENT COMMAND

Back up equipment may not always be available so direct verbal communication may be necessary
