  1. 1. Reading the Subtext By: Joe Keene
  2. 2. Always read everything! Many people do not bother to read the fine print on many contracts they sign. Mortgages, employment papers, auto loans, insurance binders You might be surprised at some of the things companies try to slip by you.
  3. 3. Financing for auto loans demands the most attention. Always read every line item charged and the amount. Sometimes dealerships will add charges for a high amount. Doc processing fee for $995 Gas fee of $50 Extended warranty for $799 Do not be afraid to ask questions!
  4. 4. Read the qualifications and guidelines before applying. Many companies advertise 0% financing for the first 3 months or annual percentage rates (APR) as low as 1.99% Bank of America guidelines: Greater than 640 credit score Vehicle needs to be a 2004 or newer Vehicle has less than 125,000 miles Vehicle cant be purchased from an independent dealer
  5. 5. You do not want to have your credit pulled without a necessary reason. Each inquiry negatively affects your credit score. Thinner credit files take a harder hit for each inquiry. Cross selling Dont want to waste your time
  6. 6. Next time you go to buy a car or purchase anything, I implore you to read every little word of whatever the next document you are about to sign!
