Some task appear to be easy

Page 4: Presentation1

But are difficult to perform

Page 5: Presentation1

Your boss asking you to think out of the box and give your innovative ideas and opinion .

Page 6: Presentation1

Sounds simple!

But you are unable to answer

Page 7: Presentation1
Page 8: Presentation1

So now we look forth how to simplify this not so simple task with our journey of why how and when

Page 9: Presentation1

Why we need to go out of the

box ?

Page 10: Presentation1

When we are inside the box we are agree to everybody When we go out of the box our years long reputation is at stake so why we need to go out of that safe box

Is it a luxury or a necessity

Page 11: Presentation1

We all are nodes of information and share same data What maintains our dignity as human beings is

generating creative information from same shared data

so it is a necessity ….

Page 12: Presentation1

Which box are we talking about

Page 13: Presentation1

This box is not out of our mind

it is the boundary or wall within our mind between what we know and what we don’t know

Page 14: Presentation1

Our box or safe zone is the mixture of indirect experiences that we have learnt in school and universities and direct experiences which we have gathered from our own success and failure

Page 15: Presentation1

How to think out of the box

do we need to wait for an apple to fall

Page 16: Presentation1

When we have a task or a focus area we combine the convergent and divergent thought to generate the

creative idea ..

Page 17: Presentation1

Convergent information are the specifications and basic information related to the focus area which we have always known or the information which has always existed

Divergent information is the creative thought or idea which is out of the box

Page 18: Presentation1

When we are thinking out of the box we are in a dark place suspended in between something unknown

We don’t have any preset conditions to act accordingly

Page 19: Presentation1

At this point of time we have the feeling to go back into the safe old box but we have to resist this feeling

Came out of the box

Page 20: Presentation1

Generating creative ideas require Long thinking

We need to go far

We do not have to focus on each note of the song but have to feel the whole symbolism and aura of the song

Page 21: Presentation1

When we are on a journey out of the box- association and combination of ideas

Extraction from the known information. We need to be open minded We need to be fluent

Page 22: Presentation1

When we are creative no single answer is correct We need to look for the alternatives

Page 23: Presentation1

Assessment of our creative idea

Page 24: Presentation1

when we are out of the box we are in a completely unknown territory

so how do we judge ?

Page 25: Presentation1

Avoid pre assessment

this is the mechanism to kill our new idea

We don’t think ourselves entitled to be the creator and pre assess ourselves

to be wrong

Page 26: Presentation1

We need to look at the match between our new or the creative idea and convergent information that is the information inside the box that has always existed of focus area

Page 27: Presentation1

Should we challenge the environment by going out of the box

what if the environment punishes us

Page 28: Presentation1

If it punishes we will not go out of the box

So we need to stimulate the environment to be creative by allowing flow of divergent information and metaphors in the work place or the organisation

Page 29: Presentation1

A blink of a eye phenomenon or less than that

Generation of a creative idea out of the box takes place within few seconds

Page 30: Presentation1

Understanding the concept by an example- We try to make the TEDx talk creative results of thinking out of the box - • talk can be held in stadium may be during half time of a football match• Brilliant speakers replaced by normal speaker with script WILL THESE IDEAS WORK? ASSESS
