In the periods from 1985 to 1995, national surveys showed that the combined number of Australian children who were overweight or obese have more than doubled.

In 2004 a survey was conducted in NSW, and much like the national survey this survey had risen from the 1995 survey that showed 1 in 10 children to the 2004 survey showing that 1 in 4 children had doubled in weight.

It is important that children begin to learn about Health and safety issues as well as learning the importance of physical activity from a young age as their mind is very impressionable, much more so when they are younger, therefore the earlier children learn that fitness is good for them, the better the outcome the children will have in their future.

Children are the future, our future, therefore it would be best to help them to grow into the best possible form that they can.

PDHPE has be designed to do just this, to help educate children about the do’s and don'ts of issues such as eating healthy, exercising regularly, changing bodies as we grow, safety first, stranger danger and so on. PDHPE is a tool used to aid your child into a better future.
