Digi

Pack -

In our previous post about digi-packs, we explained about having head shots of the artist (in the images provided) we thought so as the consumer could easily distinguish who the artist is and therefore know what category of genre they remain in, e.g. pop, R&B, reggae...

We’ve added more though towards this and considered using specific tools such as photoshop to digitally enhance the cover...from research we found that most album covers had neutral backgrounds with a striking font (see image 1) however we could reverse this and initially produce an album cover that'll look like (see image2)

Looking at previous digi-packs we realised many like (image 3) include song lyrics, short bio’s, information about producers, song writers ect. and also include images taken just for this purpose

Magazine

Setting – usually the photo shoot in taken in a studio however fashion and music magazine shoots have been known to use different locations e.g. Hotels, manor, iconic buildings/places ...Props – you’d rarely see props used in the cover of a photo, usually find them in the spread ( centre of magazine) however if props were used I'd believe they’d have some sort of importance perhaps used in a certain music video... Costumes – music magazines usually dress the artist based on their genre, for example pop artist would wear bright colours. Fashion magazines would dress the artist in ‘on trend’ or ‘classic, sophisticated’ clothing sometimes in an exaggerative way...High/Low key lighting - High lighting is mainly used in all genres of magazines to create a ‘fresh faced’ appearance and the ideal look of ‘perfection’ ...Colours – Music magazines would use bold colours again depending on their artists genre, usually magazine would use bright colours to draw the viewer in as well as striking fonts...

Researched magazines and found that most if not all have a star persona on the cover, its usually a head shot or upper body shot of them but initial idea is that their the main focus.

FinalIdea

Our digi-pack will contain images of our artist possibly screen grabs from previous shoots and information about them, with additional song lyrics and producers ect. It will have a neutral font to emphasize the artist which on the other hand will be mid/head shot

We might use a screen grab from one of our previous images for the cover of our digi-pack. Therefore using our image from one of our locations for the cover of the magazine preferably the image of our artist wearing a floral maxi dress.
