Task 3• These are the two production companies that we used in the mission impossible film

and our own film, mistaken identity. • The mission impossible films are all produced by skydance productions, and our

production company for our film was oblivion productions. If you look at the two images at the bottom of the slide you may notice that both the production companies have a space background.

Task 3 – Mistaken Identity• Our film was mostly targeted to the UK audience.• Our film was based on the mission impossible trilogy because we decided that we were going to

create a spy/ action film instead of creating and thriller or a teen drama. • Within the opening sequence it sets up the film by giving the audience some information about

what might happen in the rest of the film.• We have decided to first start by spreading the word about our film to friends and family's and

through social media too.

Social media• The definition for social media is; websites and applications that enable users to create and

share content or to participate in social networking.• We used social media to help spread the word about our film idea and our opening sequence

that we created for the film. We even uploaded our opening sequence to YouTube so that people around the world can see it and know about our idea for a film and see if they like the idea themselves.

• There are many different types of social media and we use it all the time everyday, that’s why it is a good way to tell people about things because everyone has access to it.

• Some examples of social media are;• - Facebook• - YouTube• - Twitter• - Instagram• And they are just some well know ones.

Self Distribution • For many filmmakers, the process goes like this:• I am going to make a movie, get into Sundance and sell it for a million dollars!• Mom and dad and family and girlfriend and random crowdfunding people, give me money!• Holly crap. I didn’t raise enough money – so I will need to cut my budget.• Who knew practical special effects and pick-up shots were so time consuming?• Dear friends and family and angry girlfriend, we spent your money and the movie is finished!• Oh no! We can’t fix this in post!• Film festival submissions are expensive!• We just got rejected from Sundance – now what?• We just WON the Best Picture award at some regional film festival nobody ever heard of!• Wait, we have been on the festival circuit for over a year and Hollywood has not called.• Holly crap. We just got a call from a sales agent! They want to put our movie on iTunes!• Wait, I just read the agreement and the distribution deal doesn’t pay.• Wait… I can get my own movie into iTunes. Without the middle-man?• Dear friends and family and ex-girlfriend and crowdfunders, we are in iTunes!• I really wish I would have budgeted for a self distribution film campaign.
