TIMETABLE FIT: Wednesday 2 nd A (15:15-15:50), 2 nd B (16:00-16:40) OBJETIVES: - Revise the members of the family (mum, dad, brother, sister, granny, grandpa, baby). - Revise the numbers and colours. - Learn three different actions (run, jump and turn around). - Identify the three new actions listening to a story. - To practice the three actions making a draw. CLASS DESCRIPTION: The students in this class are between 7 and 8 years old. There are 30 students in each course. The first lesson starts at 15:15 and ends at 15:50 and the second one starts at 16:00 and ends at 16:40. The teacher enters the classroom and she starts singing the “Hello” song. Students stand up and start singing and acting out the song. With this routine they practice actions and parts of the body. After that, they check the weather all together and they talk about how they feel that day (happy, sad, angry, sleepy). The teacher presents the activities and they work hard continuously. Generally, they revise vocabulary of the previous class and in each new unit they learn a song. All the activities last between 5 to 10 minutes. The class ends when the teacher starts singing the “Goodbye” song. One important aspect of the class is that as they are very young and with a low level of English, they speak in Spanish all the time, except when they have to talk about themselves or when they have to sing a song. ROUTINES: “Hello” song, check the weather, moods, “Goodbye” song. Imaz Celeste, Depetris Marianela

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

The students in this class are between 7 and 8 years old.

ROUTINES:

“Hello” song, check the weather, moods, “Goodbye” song.

WARM UP:

We will start the lesson by singing the “Hello” song. After that, we will give each student a piece of cardboard with their names, so that we can recognize them more easily. Then, we will check the weather using the flashcards and immediately after that we will ask the students how they feel today, using a ball.

ACTIVITY 1: Unit 2. “My family.” Page 13.

We have to divide students into boys and girls. The boys are the grandpas and the girls are the grandmas, so when we say Grandma/Grandpa + an action + a number, students have to do it. For example “Grandma. Clap your hands. Three.” They have to stand up and do the actions.

1. Grandma. Clap your hands. Three.2. Grandpa. Stamp your feet. Four. 3. Grandma. Turn around. Five. 4. Grandpa. Touch your head. Six. 5. Grandma. Touch your toes. Two.6. Grandpa. Say hello. Four.

ACTIVITY 2: Pages 14 and 15.

Listen and point. Then say.

a) We have to ask students to go to pages 14 and 15 and then ask them which family members they see and say their names.

b) Students have to look at the pictures in the box. We have to point to each action and say it and then students have to repeat and act them out.

ACTIVITY 3: Pages 14 and 15.

Listen and sing.

a) We have to ask students How many mums they see in the picture, How many dads, How many brothers and sisters.

b) Students will listen to a song. We have to ask them to point the family members and to act the song, so that they can practice the three new actions.

c) We play the song again and they have to sing all together.

ACTIVITY 4: Page 16.

Listen and answer.

a) We have to tell students that they will hear a story in page 16. We play the story and then we ask them what happens in it in L1.

b) We play the story once again, stopping at each frame. We ask them what happens in each of them.

EXTRA ACTIVITY:

We have to give students a sheet of paper and ask them to draw a family portrait showing family members doing different actions. (Actions: jump, run and turn around).

To round up the lesson, we will play the recorder so as to sing the “Goodbye” song.
