Ask permission from management/owners

The assigned industry must have at least 10 employees (more is preferred)

GUIDELINES, REMINDERS
Explain to the management that you will be conducting a Job Analysis in order to generate a Job Description
Observe first, record your observations on their tasks before administering the PAQ;
If there are several employees having the same type/class of position, you may administer the PAQ individually or as a group
Bring multiple copies of the PAQ; Have the supervisor(if any) review the PAQ, there is a
section for their comments
Documentation (photographs, at least 3 will suffice) at the locale of the Job Analysis
1. With the managerial/supervisory staff
2. with the Job Incumbent/s
3. within the industry premises
Role of the Job Incumbent
The following suggestions should help incumbents assist the job analyst:
Spend some time thinking about the job. At the outset fully explain the incumbents' concept of the job to the analyst;
Focus on the facts - do not overstate or understate duties knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics;
Role of the Job Incumbent
The job incumbent has an important role in this process. Refrain from side issues. The analyst is only concerned with the job itself. Job performance, wages, complaints, relationships with co-workers, etc., are not relevant to this activity;
Remember that the incumbents' input is critical; however, establishing the boundaries of the job is a management decision; and
Be aware that there will be no adverse consequences from job analysis. For example, no person's salary will be reduced and no person's job will be eliminated. The analyst may recommend changes in title or other realignments, subject to management decision.
For Group Leaders
