you will find our school to be the most dynamic institution of higher

business education in the Indian Ocean region and beyond. We

offer the student wishing to advance their business career several

programs designed to meet the needs of individuals at several stages

of education and work experience.

I have come to ISITECH Business School from the United States. I

made this move because I believe so strongly in the effort underway

here. We are building a school that will provide you the student with

the tools to advance your career in this rapidly and every changing

world business climate.

We are unique in business education. We offer an alternative to the

typical high cost and long running programs. We are going to speed

you on your way to understanding the most important business

concepts and tools. We are going to expose you to an international

business culture with faculty and staff from around the world. While

a student at ISITECH you will be challenged like never before. While

completing your studies, you will be located in a vibrant multi-cultural

I am a big advocate of business education. Over the course of my

career, I have worked for several large multi-national corporations and

have also owned my own business. At each stage of transition, the

knowledge I was able to employ due to my business degrees was an

extremely important factor.

The island nation of Mauritius is a bustling commercial centre with a

wonderful climate. It is a location without peer. You will be studying

alongside others that are just as driven as you toward success.

The network you will develop with your fellow students and within

the commercial community of Mauritius is one that will serve you

throughout your working life.

work culture• The average working week is 9:00am to 5:30pm. However, many executives work longer hours.• Mauritian business protocol and tradition demands punctuality when attending meetings. It is also best practice to arrange appointments several days in advance.• It is customary to always shake hands. When being introduced or when meeting someone, as well as when leaving.• Business cards are welcomed in business culture and are generally exchanged at the end of business meetings.• Misplaced or exaggerated praise is not appreciated in Mauritius business culture.• It is considered rude to ask direct personal questions about occupation, income and background.

Coventry University is a forward-looking, modern University with a proud tradition as a provider of high quality education and a focus on applied research. The University also prides itself on the blend of strong links with industry and commerce, underpinned with entrepreneurial business acumen; preparing students for work in the competitive global job market.

Coventry University operates under Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). QAA is an independent body funded by subscriptions from universities and colleges of higher education, and through contracts with the main higher education funding bodies. QAA is governed by a Board, which has overall responsibility for the conduct and strategic direction of their business and assures standards and improves the quality of UK higher education.

Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) is the leading global professional body for Commercial and Business Development Managers. It is also an internationally recognised examination and awarding body for business and management studies. The Institute of Commercial Management benefits from full recognition by the regulators of external qualifications in England – the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual).

At Ofqual, they are responsible for maintaining standards, improving confidence and distributing information about qualifications and examinations. They regulate general and vocational qualifications in England and vocational qualifications in Northern Ireland.

introductionThe Corporate Relations Group is the heart of IBS's approach to building a career route for students studying at IBS. It acts as a bridge from the academic to the working environment whereby students get exposure and real work life experiences through internships, project works, surveys and /or case studies.

The Corporate Relations Group advises students on choosing the right career path, depending on their capabilities, potential and interests. The CRG team builds strategic alliances with companies to facilitate the immersion of students. Our partnerships include many of the most influential companies in the local economy as well as globally recognized brands across a wide variety of industries. We look forward to building good business relations with many other companies who will be participating in IBS Internship Fairs held throughout the year.

internshipsISITECH Business School leverages the assistance of its network of partners from the private and public sectors to place students studying full time in internship roles. The internships may vary in frequency and duration but have to be in line with the designated field of study. The internships may be remunerated with a stipend.

Through the Corporate Relations Group, IBS looks into the career path of a student. The internship programme is designed to put students on a career route with a company so as to have some exposure in the working environment, to build a career in the future and face global working challenges easily. We already have some companies providing internship programmes to our students and we continue on building good business relations with many other companies in Mauritius.

placements – part time to full timeAn internship programme given to a student varies from 6 months to 1 year. This can be classified as a part time placement for those with below 6 months internship period and for those having a more than 6 months it is classified as a full time internship period. The ultimate aim of the internship programme is to provide each IBS students with a full time placement in the long term.

part time workIn line with the Budget Speech 2011, the Government has provided for a new scheme whereby foreign students will be allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week. IBS is very supportive of this policy and will certainly bring its full contribution.

consultancy projects – surveys, project works, case studiesIBS gives its students to work with well known companies on surveys, project works or case studies which is part of the academic programme and designed by Professors for students to apply their academic knowledge to the real world.

liaison – CEO speaker seriesIBS has integrated the CEO Speaker series in the academic programme of students. This gives students the chance to hear from CEOs and have discussions on related industry topic. This provides exposure to the work environment and both local & international contexts.

international exposureIBS has a pool of foreign students with diverse culture coming togetherfor studies in campus. Each student has had exposures with knowncompanies in the global market. Hence, when they come to Mauritius toenhance their studies, they also bring in international exposure as anexperience for an internship programme with a local or internationalcompany in Mauritius.
