MYTHS OF INTERACTIVITY Interactivity makes course
too long
Interactivity is the Greek word for “multiple-choice”
Interactive E-learning courses are too costly

WHAT DOES INTERACTIVITY MEAN? Interactivity is a process that
will help you to actively engage with the course
Interactivity helps you reflect on the information and to grasp the knowledge being taught
It helps grab the learners attention
It helps the learners to retain the complete information
Easy knowledge transfer Can be used as an evaluation
method - both formative and summative

CRITERIONS OF INTERACTIVITY
The learners should face some type of challenge
Interactivities should bind to take decisions
They are allowed to explore
They are allowed to make mistakes without being punished
They must have fun The placement should be
apt to reduce confusion

IMPORTANCE OF INTERACTIVITY
Keeps learners interested and mentally simulated
Learner can practice the actual task
Helps the learners process information more in-depth
Never hurts to make the experience a little fun

HOW MUCH INTERACTIVITY IS NEEDED?
It is important to use interactions only when and where they are beneficial to the learning experience. If an interaction does not fit well, do not include it.
LEVELS OF INTERACTION
Can be 4 levels of interactions: Passive Limited Interaction Complex Interaction Real-Time Interaction
PASSIVE
When learners are Novice or they receiver of the information
Introductory interactions like simple navigations, roll-overs, on-clicks etc.
LIMITED INTERACTION The learners make
simple responses to instructional cues
Adds a component of scenario based Multiple choice questions
Simulation can exist like Watch simulations
Some animations where the learners has to explore
COMPLEX INTERACTION The learners can
make multiple or varied answers.
Complex simulation like: Watch-Try-Do
Scenario based learning
Branching Assessment learning
REAL-TIME INTERACTIONS The learner is engaged in real situation
where it exactly reflects the work situation Real time learning and assessment occurs

CONCLUSION There is an unrealized
potential in the use of interactivities.
Interactivities boost learning People learns faster from it They help learners to apply on
their job Unlike simple instructions,
which pushes information into your head, interactivities pulls you into the instruction and engages you.
