TAPE MEASURE o  Measures the size of an object

FRAMING SQUARE o  Used for laying out large pieces of scenery

o  Tests that two pieces meet at a 90 degree or right angle

SPEED SQUARE o  Used to mark 90 or 45 degree angles

o  Smaller than a Framing Square

LEVEL / SPIRIT LEVEL o  Checks that a surface is “level” or parallel with the ground

o  Can also check that a surface is “plumb” or vertical

o  Can also check 45 degree angles

o  Stretch string between points and snap to transfer chalk
