Early life Real name was Araminta Ross Started working at age six At age seven she got hit with a metal

weight and carried a scar from it for the rest of her life

Harriet’s nickname was Minty

Middle aged life Spent ten year saving slaves First started to save slaves after

saving her family Ended up saving over 300 slaves

Later life In 1851 she became a cook and a

nurse then quickly became an armed scout and spy

Then in 1859 was given a piece of land in Auburn, NY

1869 Married Civil War veteran and adopted a child

1913 – Harriet dies
