Another publishing company...As part of my research in order to answer the question, “What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?” I thought that it would be appropriate to find another publishing company independently. I also intended to
search for the publisher who creates the magazine that inspired me (We lovepop) while creating my own music
magazine.
We Love PopWe love pop inspired me because, after selecting my target audience, it helped me to identify what my audience find interesting and whatattracts them. In addition, while the magazine is not a music magazine, it still gave
me a goodidea of how I should lay out my magazine and
whatcolours will attract my target audience.
After looking into which media company publishes We love pop I realised that it was
not a company that I have already covered so I have decided to use this as my independent
research company too. The name of this company is EGMONT.
EGMONT...Egmont is the UK's biggest children's publisherThey publish only for children: they're their main
focus not a sidelineEgmont Group, Scandinavian in origin, is one of the
world's biggest media companiesThey're a private company owned by a charitable

They're “big enough to have an impact, small enough to care”

Advertising Egmont Magazines offers advertisers a wealth of standard and
tailored creative solutions across their portfolio of 19 titles targeting children from 2-16. Based on a client’s core objectives they can deliver a range of solutions that can provide direct response, data-capture and where necessary product-sampling.
Their solution, based ideas are both innovative and interactive because they know that their dual audience – mums and children are more receptive to messages that offer total engagement and often requiring the child to do something on the page. Depending on the product and target audience, they offer cross-title packages that give you maximum and targeted exposure.
Examples of creative solution formats are advertorials, switch-cover, sponsored editorial, competitions, covermounts and many more besides.
One advertising technique they use on the main EGMOT site is, where you can view the range of magazines they publish they have direct links for each of the magazines to their own individual websites.
A further advertising technique that EGMONT use on their website is to provide customers with the information about where they can buy their products from.
