2. INTRODUCTIONBackground: Due to the recent clean up ofGarfield, Mayor Joseph Delaney hasasked the middle school to createposters to hang up around the city tohelp. As an eighth grader, you will be incharge of the Anti-Pollution posters.Problem Statement: Because Garfield is a very diversecity with many different languagesspoken, you realize you need to createa poster that reflects this. You mustcome up with a poster that is easilyaccessible to all community members. 3. CRITERIA The area chosen must show pollution or evidence that pollution ispresent. Your project must show how pollution can be prevented. You must interview one person who lives in the area. At least two languages must be present on the poster. Poster must reflect visual cues of the message you are gettingacross. Your poster must be able to withstand precipitation. Poster must be large enough to be seen by a passing car. 4. ConstraintsMaterials:Recycled Poster Board (no smaller than 11x17 and no bigger than22x28)Tools:ComputerPrinterLaminatorScissorsGlueMarkersPaintColored PencilsHuman Resources:You will be working in groups of three of four, maximum. 5. Constraints, cont.Time Constraints: You will utilize previous lesson plan on pollution to help you with this challenge. You have Thursday night, May 4th and the weekend to locate and photographyour locations. Groups will be created in class on Thursday. Friday, May 5th will be a time for discussion on locations and potential pollution. Three class periods will be dedicated to research and design. Your final project will be due Monday, May 15th with Thursday and Friday classperiods being used for development.Location: Two groups cannot choose the same polluted area. 6.
