Methodology• Use of GIS-• A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer tool for capturing

storing, querying, analyzing and displaying spatial data from the real world for particular set purposes.

• This technique is used to generate optimal route for collecting solid waste. GIS is a tool that not only reduces time and cost of the site selection, but also proved a digital data bank for future monitoring program of the site.

• Therefore, objective of the present study areto estimate the ward wise per capita solid waste generation and to prepare a distributionmap of waste generation in the urban limit of Coimbatore.
