History ● The Ancient Manor of the Hyde was part of the lands of Westminster Abbey seized by Henry VIII at the dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536.
● Henry used it for hunting but James I opened it to the public in early 17th century.
● The Serpentine artificial lake was created in 1730, when the Westbourne River was dammed.
● A lido was build in 1930
