1. My outgoing personality-I'm friendly ! Who wouldn't want someone nice and friendly to represent their class?! No one!

2. I am responsible and reliable. If you vote for me, I'll try to be the best first year representative ever!

3. And, my experience! I was a co-chair for a youth council called Volunteer Captains for my local community centre and one of my responsibilities was to act as a liaison between the community centre staff and youth. Coincidentally, a first year rep also takes on the role of being a liaison as well...Oh, wow what a perfect match! Don't dillydally vote for ALY!

Dylan Billings

1. I am a hardworking individual who when given a task, runs with it, and gets it completed quickly, efficiently, effectively, and with a positive attitude. I will try my very best to get all messages passed on to my fellow classmates immediately and get their input on the messages for the following meeting so that they feel well involved in the community, and heard by those who represent them.

2. I am an outgoing and positive individual, and I believe that I would represent the first year Concurrent-Education students well, and be an asset to the CESA Executive team. I am quick witted, and always ready to make a joke. I try my best to smile everyday and keep a positive attitude towards everything I do. Even when put in a stressful situation, I will remain enthusiastic about the task at hand and not stop until it is completed and I am satisfied with the result.

       3. I am a natural leader. In my high school career I lead an Improv team for three years to become the top in our region. I organized several events and worked with several prominent charities, mainly to do with education in a third world country. In the summer between Grade 11 and 12, I had the opportunity to travel to India with Me to We and Free the Children, and break ground for the building of a school in the small village of Kamoda. While there I took part in leadership workshops, and interacted with the children and learned about the education system in a vastly different culture. In my senior year of high school I was part of a business leadership club, and helped raise over $1200 at a small charity dinner for the WWF Polar Bear fund. Throughout all of this I learned how to lead a large group of people, hear their voices, and make sure that I appeased as many people as I could.

Lexie Houghton During my high school career I was involved in leadership programs to orient new students to our school and encourage participation in everything.

I also have a vocal performance background so I am comfortable speaking to groups of people. I am always very enthusiastic about projects I am involved in and am always ready to put 100% into my commitments.

I enjoy being involved and look forward to the challenge of representing my fellow Con-Ed students.

Emily Jones 1. Over the past 4 years I have worked

heavily in my school community occupying various positions in different committees and organizations (Student Council President, Leadership Co-ordinator, Special Events Chair, Safe Schools Representative, Peer tutor, High School Ambassador. etc). Which has taught me skills such as communication, organization and time management.

2. This past summer I worked at Youth Leadership Camps Canada as a residential and out-tripping counsellor, working with children ages 6-17. This gave me the skills to make great and lasting connections with different personality types and taught me the importance of flexibility when things don't go as planned. This opportunity also gave me a chance refine my professional facilitation skills and gave me the confidence to be able to work and communicate effectively with campers, fellow staff members and parents.

3. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first month at Trent and could not be happier with the program (and profession) I chose. I have an abundance of energy and experience that I am eager to share and I would love the opportunity to get involved at Trent and in CESE!

Firstly, I love to plan events because when everyone is enjoying themselves at the event it makes me smile knowing that something was done right.

Secondly, I am extremely organized and reliable, which means that I will put the effort in to contribute to CESA continuing to be amazing.

Thirdly, staying involved means that I can help make a difference for all of our fellow Con-Eddies by helping have their ideas heard so that CESA can benefit everyone in the program.  Please find attached my CESA nomination picture.  I look forward to hearing more about the elections and news from CESA.

Miranda Moore I have extensive experience in event planning, organization, team work and time management from being Vice- President of Student Council in my grade twelve year of high school.

I am very passionate about learning in fun, new ways and I believe that I could help lead CESA to plan events that can help us 'con- eddies' not only learn about our future careers but do so in an engaging and exciting manner.

I possess very strong communication skills which I believe is essential for the Junior Social Rep. on account of their many encounters with other CESA members, classmates, and individuals from the Peterborough and Trent communities.

1.  I was on ISW Staff this year for Lady Eaton College, so (along with having the time of my life) I have gained a lot of expertise in planning great events and getting students motivated and interested.  I've noticed that we have so many enthusiastic and wonderful first years in the ConEd program, and I am excited to get them involved in all of the CESA activities!

2.  I was the Social Director and Fundraising Coordinator at my high school, where I was involved in planning social events like dances, Haunted Houses, talent shows, etc... I was also a member of Leaders of Tomorrow, the Living Learning Community at LEC in my first year.  Essentially - I have a lot of experience planning things and I know what I'm doing! :)

3.  My favourite quote is from Alice in Wonderland: "We're all mad here." - I just wanted to share this because even though I'm a little weird, and each of us individually are a little weird, it's okay because we're all "mad", and we're all a community.  I think that is one of the most important jobs that CESA has - to bring all the ConEddies together as one big family, no matter what our differences are!  As Jr. Social Rep, I would try to have a large variety of events, respecting the fact that all of us are different and we all have different ideas of fun.  I want to create an environment where all of us feel that we are welcome and can come out to have an amazing time!

Amy Belisle I would make a great junior editor because I am a meticulous craftsmen and give each sentence careful inspection and deliberation. Editing is where writing happens, and I am passionate about perfecting the art.

As a senior editor, I would pass on the legacy to our new team member while giving time and consideration into creating an aesthetic and easy to follow layout.

I am great to work with and eager to get to know my potential colleagues in CESA as well as my fellow Concurrent Education students. My goal is to get them excited and inspired to read and write for the Red Apple.Hope to be hearing from you soon about any events or updates with regards to CESA or the election. Congratulations on your award!

1) I'm a creative and innovative person. I like to see things change and evolve and I would love to add a new, exciting and modern spin to the Red Apple.

2) Even though I'm a science student, I really like writing and editing! In 2010, I received an award for outstanding editing from the Canadian Yearbook Review. Each year they present this award to an editor from a school with one of Canada's top yearbooks. With that, I'd say I've got the skills to do this job well. I've also advised a nationally placing high school year for the past 2 years, so I'm really aware of the time and effort it takes to not only edit, but compile a piece of work that will be widely distributed, such as the Red Apple.

3) I love working and collaborating with groups of people and in general, being involved. In the past I've been on student council as business administrator, editor of the yearbook club, Chair of the Thinkfast Committee, and leader of the Grade 12 retreat team. Also I've demonstrated teamwork and leadership while being involved in several other clubs and playing on numerous teams.

Michelle Carr

-I was part of student government and volunteer clubs in high school, as well as clubs at Trent like PenPals, Walkhome, and Frontier College, and want to stay involved!

-I love working in a team, and who better to work with than people in my program with similar interests to mine?!

-I am really interested to hear about others’ experiences in/ideas for teaching (my Pinterest board is full of teaching ideas!), so I would be open to all kinds of submissions to the Red Apple!
