BHU Entrance Test Result 2015: Counselling Procedure

During the month of May/June every year Banaras Hindu University conducts Undergraduate Entrance Test for admission to Undergraduate degree courses. These Undergraduate Degree Courses are further divided into General Courses and Professional Courses. Many students take these Entrance Exam which are being conducted on all India Basis for admission to 4 institutes and 14 faculties (streams) and more than 140 departments which run under Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The Entrance Exam is conducted in pen and paper based mode on different dates and at many centres in the selected cities across India. Undergraduate Entrance Test was conducted for admission to the following courses:

B.A. Hons Arts B.A. (Hons) Social Sciences B. Sc. (Hons.) Maths Group B. Sc. (Hons.) Bio. Group B.Sc.(Ag)/B.Sc.(Ag)RGSC LLB B.P.Ed Sastri Hons B.Ed-Life Science B.Ed-Physical Science B.Ed-Mathematics

Once the candidates take the Entrance Exam; they eagerly start waiting for the results. Once the results are out they search eagerly for the Admission or the Counselling Process. This article deals in detail with the Counselling Process which is followed by Banaras Hindu University to offer admission to the desirous students.

For the upcoming academic session 2015-16, BHU will follow computerized counseling procedure to offer admissions to various courses. The counseling will be conducted in few steps all which have been discussed below:

Step 1: Online Preference Entry (on or after issue of Call Letter and before the Counselling Date)

The candidates who have been called for counseling to get the final admission are required to fill in an online Preference Entry Form which will be made available and active on the official website for online preference entry after they have received the password.

Step 2: The Day of Counselling

Candidates have to report at the counselling venue at the specified time/date given mentioned in the Call letter. They have to get their attendance marked by signing the attendance sheet available with the Counseling Centre Incharge.

In case the candidates are offered Provisional Admission, they have to collect the Provisional Admission Letter from the Counselling Centre Venue Incharge at 10:00 am on the next day of Counseling.

Once the candidate has got the provisional admission letter from the Counseling Centre/Venue Incharge, they will have to pay the Admission Fee either Online or Offline.

Step 3: Activity on next day of Counselling date

On the next day of the counseling candidates have to submit the proof of payment of admission fee to the Counselling Centre/Venue Incharge. The same is not required if fee is paid Online payment through credit card/ debit card through the payment gateway available.

In case candidates fail to produce the evidence/proof of payment by the said deadline, it will be presumed that they are not interested in the admission and their provisional admission letter shall be treated as cancelled/withdrawn.
