MBA (Global Hospitality andTourism)The MBA (Global Hospitality and Tourism) is anaccelerated, full-time programme that is designed tohelp creative, resourceful people acquire the solidhospitality and tourism management skills that willenable them to turn projects and enterprises intosuccess whether they are currently working in thehospitality and tourism industry and would like to climbthe career ladder or have a managerial role in anotherindustry and wish to switch to the hospitality andtourism industry.

The MBA is also excellent for graduates from hospitalityand tourism or management programmes with junior orno experience in the hospitality and tourism industry.We will help you acquire that experience through ourinternship in phase 2 of the programme to apply thetheory you receive in phase 1 and be inspired for topicsthat matter for the industry in the capstone projectduring phase 3.

ModulesPHASE 1: 2 TO 4 MONTHS

COURSES

1. Global Hospitality and Tourism Trends: Thesharing economy, industry consolidation, equity,debt and emerging financing platforms, outboundinvestment from Asia, the rise of select service,condominium hotels, millennial travel preferences,global taxation, among others.

2. Global marketing for the Hospitality and TourismIndustry: Global marketing and branding strategy,market segmentation and marketing mix withemphasis on social media, revenue managementand customer relationship management.

3. Global Strategic Management for Hospitality andTourism: Strategic analysis, strategic choice andimplementation with particular emphasis onforeign market entries, international alliances andnetworks, joint ventures and acquisitions.

4. Organisational Behaviour in International Tourismand Hospitality Organisations: Understanding theworkforce, diversity management, leadership,motivation, managing groups and teams, andmanaging change.

5. Global Corporate Finance for the Hospitality andTourism Industry: Foreign exchange risk, accessinternational financial markets, manageinternational portfolio investment, internationalreal estate, and financial analysis and managementof global operations.

6. Policy & Practice for Global Tourism: Policy-making process and instruments, interest groups,sustainable development, and emergingeconomies.

7. Research Methods & Data Analytics forHospitality and Tourism: Research process,approaches, methods, analysis and reporting.

The capstone project provides a customised opportunity for you to reinforce your career prospects by addressing apractical, real-world challenge using the skills and knowledge you acquire during your programme of study,mentored by both academics and industry professionals. You may propose your own project, or collaborate with acompany to further develop expertise and experience in an area of personal interest. You will be mentored by ourinstructors. Examples of capstone projects include: international product launches, office openings in multinationallocations, global surveys of potential customers and improvement of complex hospitality processes.

PHASE 2: 4 TO 6 MONTHS

InternshipYou will be placed on a 4- to 6-months internship inthe hospitality and tourism industry to gain experienceand cement what you have learned in the classroomthrough a real life experience. This is excellent for yourCV adding to it actual work experience . You will alsosubmit full capstone project proposal based on yourinternship.

Visa RequirementsEU, EEA, Swiss, British and British overseas territorynational applicants do not need a student visa to studyin Italy. Students from other nationalities will require astudent visa to enter Italy, so please verify the visarequirements for your nationality and apply at the righttime. It may take anywhere from 4-12 weeks to obtain astudent visa.

Applicants requiring student visas will need the letter ofacceptance and the receipt of the tuition fees paymentto apply for their visa. Neither UET nor itsrepresentatives have any jurisdiction over decisionsconcerning visa applications. All decisions are made bythe relevant Italian authorities.

Tuition FeesThe tuition fees for the 12-month programme is:£6,950. Tuition fees do not include room and board,health insurance or other related expenses.

ScholarshipsAt its own discretion, UET provides a limited number ofscholarships to new students. Each scholarship isdefined by specific criteria and once a student hassubmitted a completed application, eligibility is thendecided on a case-by-case basis. Scholarships cover UETtuition fees only and they are in the form of reduction infees.

Admissions Requirements� One full year of professional experience is desirable

(preferably in the hospitality and tourism industry),� Minimum age at start of programme: 22 years,� Have a bachelor degree or equivalent qualifying

hospitality and tourism industry experience,� A 500-word motivational letter in English,� 2 satisfactory references,� Demonstrate a strong command of English), and� Pass our online interview.

Selection CriteriaWe look for candidates with the intellectual capacity tocope with the academic demands of a challengingprogramme and the motivation and potential tosucceed in a complex and dynamic industry.

In addition to your academic qualifications, you willneed to demonstrate a mix of the artistic and scientificskills that are essential for hospitality management.

We look for a good balance among the followingcriteria: motivation & talent for the industry / academicabilities / work experience & leadership potential /international outlook & cultural openness.

You should also be able to show that you are bothcreative and business focused.

How to applyThe first step in the application process is to fill in ourstudent application form enclosing the requireddocuments including copies of your passport andhighest qualifications for an initial evaluation. We willarrange an interview, which can be conducted oncampus in Milan, by phone or on Skype.

Final decisions will be made after the interview hasbeen completed and the Admissions Committee hasreviewed your complete file. If everything goes well youwill receive an unconditional offer from us.
