History of Computers in Education

Kindergarten technologyI remember very little from kindergarten technology wise. I remember listening to books and such on tape player. I did not use a computer until I was in 3rd grade. I am not sure my school even had computers until then. Televisions were very chunky and I remember my parents having this huge television that they did not want to get rid of because it was a gift from their wedding but it was old and barely worked.
High school technologyIn high school I remember having ipods, cell phones, and computers in every classroom-not all necessarily allowed except for the computers. Big change from kindergarten.
College technology
The technology hasn't so much changed since high school the only difference is now I have my own laptop rather than having to share a computer with my family or use it at school and movable.
A vivid technology learning experience
Y2K- the world thought the computers would crash 9-11 heightened traveling security and more
technology to get through security Using internet to go to class, conduct a class, turn
in assignments Texting to communicate Email communication
A technology I want to use in my classroom
Computers Internet Old fashioned pen and pencil Cameras to capture moments
My vision of the classroom
of the future I would like to see
education become more accessible to more people
I want the students to help create the curriculum through inquiry
A challenge for teaching
I see the technology constantly changing to be a challenge. I feel that once I finally get the hang of something, a new thing comes along.
Words of wisdom
