Accomplishments• January 2009 thru March 2010• Reconstitution and reorganization of the One Care of Southwest

Virginia• Revision and acceptance of One Care’s Mission Vision and Values• Planning and hosting two advocacy breakfasts for state elected

officials in Abingdon and Blacksburg, VA that resulted in ten substance abuse related bills being submitted with the passage of two bills

• Identification and submission of three federal grant applications• Hosting a regional Drug Free Communities (DFC) Grant Work session

that included Nancy Hans, Roanoke and Wayne Frith - two previous DFC Grantees and grant reviewers

• Receipt of Regional Press Coverage• Provision of presentations and public awareness meetings throughout

the region• Established partnerships with 16 substance abuse coalitions, Healthy

Appalachia Institute and the SWVA Health Authority
