Seminar

The course will offer a round-trip through selected areas of the emerging research field of technology-enhanced learning. Three areas will be highlighted to deepen the understanding of underlying concepts and technologies: automated competence assessment methods based on artificial intelligence technologies, social software concepts for distributed and open virtual learning environments, and workflows for the production of audio-visual learning content such as podcasts.

The course is framed by an attempt to specify an underlying concept space defining the core notions and theories of the emerging field. Furthermore, a methodological section rounds up the picture and gives practical advice on how to build information systems for learning.
