Water that has electrolytic substancs like salt dis-
solved in it such as ocean water conducts electricty,
in other words,flows an electric current. More
specically, when electrodes are placed in ocan water
in a beaker and connected and are connected to
the battery and light bulb,the light bulb,lights
up as show Fig-1.The basic principle of the water
ingress alarm system is that when electrodes con-
tact with oceam water,the lamp and buzzer issue
the alarm.The SUPER EYE water ingress alarm sys-
tem is based on this simple principle.
The electrodes contact sea water,then electric
current run through sea water and the light bulb
is lit.
Basic Principle
The electrorodes of the SUPER EYE detector have
a feature of configuration of connecting the wir-
ing for detection circuit and wiring for checkup
circuit,as show in Fig.-2.
The part that detects duribg ocean water ingress
is the wiring for detection circuit.
By connecting the wiring for checkup circuit,the sys-
tem error checkup is be carried out from a distant
location such as the Wheelhouse.
The electrode consist of corrosive resistant metal
such as pratinum plated titanum plus side and
minus side stainless steel.

Operation of theS U P E R E Y Ewater ingressalarm system
Water ingress detect mode:The relay system is
checking water ingress.When seawater rises up to
the detecting level,electric current live through
the white arrow, ⇨ and alarm system in Wheel-
house is ringing.
Malfunction detect mode:Push the test switch
on,then electric current live the black arrow.
➡ The relay system activates and informs that
electoric circuit is normal condition.If any part
of electric circuit is broken,electric current
of black arrow is shutdown and the relay system
informs malfunction.The operator can know the
water ingress alarm system failure.
The SUPER EYE WATER INGRESS ALARM SYS-
TEM is operating to check those two detect modes
every time.

The SUPER EYE WATER INGRESS ALARM
SYSTEM is suitable to make up Intrinsically Safe
system as show Fig-4.
Fig-4 is the basic structure of the Zener barrier
to make up Intrinsically safe system.
Normally,electric current run through white ar-
row ⇨. If electric current is over the rated
voltage, the current run through black arrow
➡ and block to run in Intrinsically safe cir-
cuit side.
The SUPER EYE WATER INGRESS ALARM
SYSTEM has the automatic maltunction check func-
tion as Fig-5.
The PLC makes cyclic ON-OFF pulse into LED.
The transistor in the photo coupler is ON at the
cyclic pulse on and is OFF at the cyclic pulse off.
The detect circuit of the PLC recognizes cycic pulse
condition that is Malfunction detect mode or Wa-
ter ingress detect mode.
At the cyclic pulse on(malfunction detect mode),
electoric currenet runs through black arrow ➡
as show Fig-5.
At the monent,PLC can detect the system mal-
function such as breaking of wire or disconnec-
tion of wire and the PLC makes the system mal-
function alarm.
At the cyclic pulse off(Water ingress detect mode),
electric current do not run because the transistor
is off.
If water ingress occurs then eloectric current runs
through white arrow ➡ as show Fig-5.
The PLC can recognize water ingress and makes
water ingress alarm.
