Port Blair, Oct 10The Election Commission of India has launched Electors Verification Programme(EVP) from Sept 1, 2019 wherein the detail of all the electors registered in the voterlist shall be verified in a time bound manner. The voters can check and update theirdetails online through the portal nvsp.in or through Voters Helpline App for mistakes,if any, or otherwise. The facility is also available at Common Service Centres (CSCs)or Voters Facilitation Centres. In addition to verification of elector details, electorscan tag their family members to group them in electoral roll. Further, BLOs arealready engaged for collection of data/information by visiting door to door. Everyelector needs to provide document for authentication/ verification to the BLOs.In addition to this, a two-days Special Camp is being setup at all the polling stations ofAndaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency on Oct 12 & 13, 2019.Electors can visit their respective polling station and verify entries in the electoralroll. HarrietNational Park for NCCArmy and Air ForceCadets recently as a partof the ongoing AnnualTraining Camp.Altogether 282 cadets 11Associate NCC Officer/Care Taker and 6Instructor staff of 1(A&N)Independent InfantryCompany NCCparticipated in the event.

During the course oftrekking, cadets weretaught about the basicrequirements and thevarious aspects of thetrekking. Cadets werefamiliarized with the localflora and fauna of theNational Park whiletrekking. A total of 5 kmtrekking was undertaken,a communication fromCommanding Officer, 1(A&N), Indep Ind Coy,NCC said here.

The expeditionorganised by the Andamanand Nicobar Commandstarted from Delhi on Sept28, 2019 and culminated atDelhi on Oct 6, 2019 aftercompleting a grueling 1500Km across the inhospitableterrain and challengingweather of the Lahaul andSpiti Valley.The expedition comprising16 officers of Army, Navyand Air force including twolady officers drove acrossmajor landmarks includingRohtang Pass, KumzumPass and Chandertaal Lake,which were all at heightsgreater than 13000 ft.
