THE SAGEMONTSCHOOLReopening Plan
In Home, In School, Invaluable!
Dear Sagemont Families,
First, we hope you are in good health and spirits and enjoying the long, warm days of summer and family time.
We write now to share our plans for reuniting in the fall. Due to the uncertainly surrounding the future of the pandemic, we recognize that comprehensive planning is critically important. Theattached brochure presents our back-to-school plan overview for Grades K-12 students.
Return to Campus or Sagemont Online Academy?
There are two options for your family to consider, and both options allow your child to work directly with our Sagemont teachers each day. We are inviting all of our students to Return toCampus in August and have outlined possible school-operation scenarios. Cognizant of families who may need or desire a semester or full year program, we have developed our own SagemontOnline Academy. The Sagemont Online Academy will be an extension of our campus, with live streamed lessons and programs directly from classrooms that will keep Sagemont studentsconnected to their teachers and classmates all year, utilizing our rigorous curriculum and an interactive learning platform that will greatly enhance students’ ability to learn from home.
We anticipate that most of our students will return to campus, but if for any reason you wish to enroll in our Sagemont Online Academy, please confirm by Friday, July 24th.
If your child will be returning to campus in August, you do not have to complete this form. To enroll in the Sagemont Online Academy please refer back to the email.
The Sagemont Online Academy Participation Form (You must complete one form for each child). The deadline to register is Friday, July 24th. Students will attend school based on the optionselected for the first semester, which is through December.
Preschool, Pre-K next year?
Our earliest learners will return to campus in a few weeks and we are excited to welcome them back. We will send a description of our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program in thecoming weeks.
Our plan to reopen and reunite in August is cohesive, but we understand the importance of flexibility during this time. For the remainder of this summer, we are committed to sending school-opening details every two weeks and more frequently, if needed.
Thank you for your partnership and ongoing support of The Sagemont School.
Sincerely,
Mellesia NelsonInterim Head of School

The Sagemont School is scheduled to open this fall for the 2020-2021 academic school year through both oncampus and online learning. We are mindful of the fact that due to underlying health conditions or other factors, you may not wish for your son or daughter to return to campus in August and are offering two separate options.
If government officials close schools orinitiate a stay-at-home order, studentswho choose option #1 will transition to
online learning.
