Concept

The studios need to function

well. they need to be flexible

and compact. I used the tiny

house movement and movable

architecture as my design

drivers.

Light Dependent Studio

This studio is designed for artists that need

uniform northern light in order to produce

their works. The bay window provides an even

amount of northern light to penetrate the

space over a longer period of time.

The detail drawings at-

tempt to explain how

each piece of furniture

was designed with the

thought of utilizing the

limited amount of space

effectively. Each piece was

designed to transform.

Drafting Studio

This studio is designed for artists that work

using a combination of hand drafting, com-

puter drafting, and model building. This unit

has two skylights to provide natural light

penetration in addition to the use of artificial

lighting. The Computer station and drafting

table are placed next to each other, so that

the designer can seamlessly Transition between

hand work and computer work.
