A MESSAGE FOR YOU
Pg . 3
Most of us would remember the gamut of emotions surrounding the start of a school year, and they are still the same for today’s children. Worried, excited, bored, sad, happy, anxious, curious, hopeful, fearful are all words that describe the feelings at this time. It is a great time for parents and their children to come together to celebrate another milestone and another year with a discussion around the dinner table about the upcoming school year and goals for faith life, learning, behavior, effort, and friends.
The teachers at Christ the King School have returned and are (mostly) ready to begin the new school year. They are excited about their group of new students, new textbooks and facilities (thanks to the auction donors). We are thrilled with the newly remodeled primary wing, thanks to the generosity of parishioners who live their discipleship. It is an exciting partnership that has made this happen, so successfully, so many times here at Christ the King.
This school year at Christ the King will begin with 240 students from 150 families and 23 staff members. Besides just the numbers, it is a community that we are proud of! The average number of students per class is 25 students (1st, 3rd and 5th - 8th grade are not accepting new students at this time).
Last year the total scholarship and financial aid awarded was $680,000 and it is anticipated that over $800,000 will be available this year, including an increase in the Catholic Education Arizona tax credits that the parents and parishioners supported with such generosity. While there are parents that are still struggling to pay tuition, there are families who feel they cannot enroll their children because they do not think they can afford it. The good news is that there are still a few scholarships and spaces available.
Past and current parents at Christ the King Catholic School, those who desired the advantages of a Catholic Education for their children, had to take a leap of faith in order to make the choice for Catholic School. Do not consider it a hard choice -- Catholic School is available, affordable and accessible for everyone! The unseen, as the Word of God reminds us, takes faith. We are so fortunate at Christ the King School that we are able to teach and learn in a place where…
Your faith is our faith Your values are our values We teach your children what you teach your children Shelley Conner Christ the King School Principal

Beautiful Savior, King of Creation, Son of God and Son of Man!
Truly I’d love thee, Truly I’d serve thee, Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.
Fair are the meadows, fair are the woodlands, robed in flow'rs of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer; He makes our sorr'wing spirit sing.
Fair is the sunshine, Fair is the moonlight, Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer, Than all the angels in the sky.
Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, Praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be thine!

Lord Jesus Christ, I firmly believe that you are present in this Blessed Sacrament as true God and true Man, with your Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. My Redeemer and my Judge,
I adore your Divine Majesty together with the angels and saints. I believe, O Lord; increase my faith.

I am the Bread of Life. All who eat this Bread will never die. I am God's love revealed. I am broken that you might be healed.
All who eat of this heavenly Bread; All who drink this cup of the covenant. You will live forever for I will raise you up.
No one who comes to Me shall ever hunger again. No one who believes shall ever thirst. All that the Father draws shall come to Me; And I will give them rest.

Your body, your blood, united with us. Your graces of love poured out from above.
As heaven kisses earth we joyously proclaim,
“Blessed are you, Lord; God forever, God of creation! Blessed are you, Lord; God forever, God of creation!”
One heart, one mind, one family with angels and saints give praise to thee.
As heaven kisses earth we joyously proclaim,
The angels stand before you now and praise you night and day.
Resounding in their heav’nly song, we join them as we say

In the light of the Lord, we are strong in our weakness. In the light of the Lord, we are strong,
We are strong, we are strong, we are strong.
In the light of the Lord, we are healed of our blindness In the light of the Lord, we are healed,
We are healed, we are healed, we are healed.
In the light of the Lord, we give praise for His mercy. In the light of the Lord, we give praise,
