GBAfter servicing and before returning set to customer perform a leakagecurrent measurement test from all exposed metal parts to earth ground toassure no shock hazard exist. The leakage current must not exceed0.5mA.
DISMANTLING INSTRUCTIONS
Dismantling of the Cover Cassette and Universal Loader
1) Remove the Cover Cassette (pos 150) in the direction asshown in Figure 1.
2) Loosen 4 screws to remove the Cover Top (pos 240) bysliding it out towards the rear before lifting up.- 2 screws on the rear- 1 screw each on the left & right side
3) Loosen 2 screws each to remove the Panel Left (pos 180)and Panel Right (pos 181). The Panels are removed bysliding it towards the rear and outwards.- 1 screw on the rear- 1 screw on the side- see Service position A
4) Use a screw driver to give a push in the direction as shownin Figure 2 and Figure 2A to unlock the Loader Tray beforesliding it out.
5) Slide out the Loader Tray and remove the Cover CD (pos110 + pos 111) in the direction as shown in Figure 3.
6) Loosen 4 screws A (see Figure 4) to remove the BracketModule Mounting (pos 156) and Universal Loader (pos1103).- 2 screws each on the left & right side

1) Remove 2 screws C (see Figure 6) from the bottom of theCabinet Front (pos 101).

2) Release the fixation of the Combi Board (pos1102-1003)to Bracket Combi (pos 155) by releasing the 2 catches C1(see Figure 7) and pulling the Combi Board outwards asshown in Figure 7A.
3) Uncatch 2 catches C2 (see Figure 7) on the left & rightsides of the Cabinet Front (pos 101) and slides the FrontPanel assembly out towards the front.- see Service position C

1) Slide out the Loader Tray fully and remove 4 screws B (seeFigure 5) to detach the Universal Loader (pos 1103) fromthe Bracket Module Mounting (pos 156).- see Service position B

Dismantling of the Front Panel assembly
1) The Knob Volume (pos 141) can be remove by pulling itout in the direction as shown in Figure 8.
2) The Knob Bass/Knob Treble (pos 140) can be remove bypulling it out in the direction as shown in Figure 9.
3) Loosen 4 screws D (see Figure 12) to remove the ShieldTape Deck and Module Tape Deck (pos 1107).
4) Loosen 2 screws E (see Figure 11) to remove the BracketTop Support (pos 113).

5) Loosen 1 screw F and 4 catches C3 (see Figure 11) toremove the Eeprom Board (pos 1105D).
6) Loosen 4 screws G (see Figure 11) to remove the BracketCombi (pos 155).
7) Uncatch 4 catches C4 (see Figure 13) to remove theDisplay Board (pos 1105A)
8) Loosen 4 screws H (see Figure 13) to remove the TopKey Board (pos 1105C).
9) Loosen 5 screws J (see Figure 14) and 2 nuts W (seeFigure 10) to remove the Control Board (pos 1105B).

1) Loosen 3 screws K and 2 catches C5 (see Figure 15) toremove the Tuner Board assembly.
2) Loosen 3 screws L (see Figure 15) to free the CombiBoard (pos 1102-1003).
3) Loosen 1 screw M (see Figure 15) to free the MainsSocket Board (pos 1102-1001B).
4) Loosen 1 scew N and 2 catches C6 (see Figure 15) tofree the Panel Rear (pos 230) by sliding it out towards therear.
Note : Tuner Board assembly and Mains Socket Boardcan also be remove together with the Panel Rear.

Repair Hints & Service Positions
1) During repair it is possible to disconnect the Tuner Boardand/or CD Module completely unless the fault is sus-pected to be in that area. This will not affect theperformance of the rest of the set.
Note: The flex cables are very fragile, care should be takennot to damage them during repair. After repair, bevery sure that the flex cables are inserted properlyinto the flex sockets before encasing, otherwise faultsmay occurs.
