It has come time for me to say good-bye. I don’t know where the time has gone. I do know that I am very thankful for your continual love and support. When I first found out about my cancer, I could not have asked for a more supportive bunch of folks than you all. Your main concern was not about my
getting the job done but about me as a person. I have never experienced such support from any of the congregations I have served and I cannot thank you enough. Your thoughts and prayers were the best medicine I got. The chemo was merely a supplement in the healing process. You have accomplished much in our time together. You did a thoughtful and creative Mission Study. You elected a wonderful PNC. And you called on Lee Thomas, an insightful minister, who is going to lead you into the future in a creative and exciting way. I am very confident that Olivet Church is going to grow and thrive in the years ahead. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have grown very close to you all and will miss being with you on a daily basis. As I leave you, I will take many fond memories of our time together. Thanks again! You all are the greatest!
