OCTAGRAM
Coming up in April will be the Annual Rally School, held each year by MGOB for
the purpose of allowing attendees to learn or improve their driving techniques
for use in future car rallies. The school will be held on April 19. For further in-
formation about the school, refer to the flier on page 3 of this issue where you
will find where and how to register etc. This event will be very helpful especial-
ly if you plan to participate in the MGOB Get The Dust Off rally to be held on
May 3rd. There is more information about this event on page 4 of this issue.
For those who may never have participated in a rally like this it is based on time
-speed– distance Monte Carlo style. The objective is to leave the starting point
with a full tank of gas ( that will be arranged at the start), complete the pre-
scribed circuit which will have check points along the way for timing purposes,
and reaching the finish with the best time and speed. Check out more details
on page 4 of this issue.

The first disc brakes were fitted to the trans-
mission of 1903 Lanchesters but this
“reserve” brake design was dropped because
adequate brake lining material was not then
available. AC adopted a disc brake on the
back axle in 1919.
