September is finally here and hopefully some cooler tempera-tures will be coming soon. I don’t know about you, but it’s been toodamn hot to drive my MGs or to work on them. I just got around tochecking out a brake issue on my MGB that turned up on the wayhome from LANCO’s B.I.G. Event. It appears the vacuum line andcheck valve from the manifold to my brake servo was clogged with gunk forcing me to have to pressreally hard on the petal to get the car to slow down during repeated braking use on a hill. Thebrakes worked fine under normal circumstances.

Moving on, I want to express a big thank you to Duff & Barbara Folwer for hosting theMGOB Summer Party. It was another hot day, but their pool helped cool things down a bit. I alsowant to thank the members for bringing some fantastic dishes and desserts to be enjoyed with theburgers and hotdogs provided by the club.

Since I brought up September, as most of you know the 37th Annual “MGs On the Rocks”British Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th at Rocks State Park 4-H Camp. We willneed volunteers to help out at the show. We especially need help parking cars on the show field andin the spectator lot. Please contact Jack Long, the show chairman at [email protected] if you canlend a hand.

Looking ahead, planning for MG 2018 is underway. The MGs of Baltimore, Ltd Car will behosting the North American MGB Register’s 27th Annual Convention at the Gettysburg WyndhamHotel Complex June 17th to 22nd, 2018. This event should draw wellover 300 MGs and up to 500 participants. While 2018 may sound likeit’s far off, it will be here before we know it. We have resumed planningmeetings after taking most of the summer off and will be making somefield trips this fall to checkout possible activities we may make part ofthe event. If you are interested is helping with this event please contactme and will add you name to the e-mail list that notifies the current vol-unteers of our planning meetings which are held at the Carney Rod &Gun Club.

- Age is different for everybody, I guess, but I'mgetting too old for this project car, and will never finish it .... I have two MGA's ... a 1960roadster, which is a driver (about a $ 25K car), and the '62 MK2. I don't need both cars ...my wife can't or won't drive a 4-speed, and my sons don't really have any interest in old cars,or British cars. Better to pass this thing to someone who has an interest in them and can ap-preciate it for what it is. I can send a CD with pix and detailed info on the '62 ... it should be worth 35 to 40Kwhen completed. It is SN GHNL2/108410, shipped on 13 April 1962. Originally red withred interior and tan hood, I planned to re-do it in black with a red and black interior. Theengine and interior of the the main clip has been sprayed in black, and the doors, trunk lid,and hood have all been done in black by a pro. The rest of the clip is in primer. It was at apro body shop for over a year, finally brought back home because the body guy was puttingmy money up his nose, not in the car. The carbs have been rebuilt (by Joe Curto) and are on the engine, finger-tight. Ceram-ic coated exhaust manifold, also loosely attached; Moss alternator; Pertronix ignition ... en-tire engine is now on an engine stand, stored inside a trailer with other large parts ...fenders, etc. My plan is to sell the trailer along with the contents ... this is a 12 foot twowheel utility trailer with a ramp door. I don't want to give this car away, but there it would be a real sweet deal for someonemechanically inclined, and 50-ish instead of 70-ish like I am. Let me know if your are inter-ested, and you send the CD with all the particulars - contact [email protected]

The first version, the PA used an 847 cc engine similar to the one on the J-Type,but now with a 3-bearing crankshaft, larger camshaft and twin OM type SU car-burettors. It produced 36 bhp (27 kW) at 5,500 rpm. In 1935, a PA open two-

seater cost £222. Around 2,000 PAs were made.

The Euro Auto Festival in Greenville, SC is the largest European/British car show in theSoutheast. In 2016 the featured marques are British Roadsters. There are typically over 400 carsand 15,000 paying spectators. The Euro was held at the BMW factory near Greenville through2104 but moved to The Preserve at Verdae, a golf course adjacent to the Embassy Suites GolfResort & Conference Center, in 2015 due to the show's growth and BMW's doubling the size oftheir factory.

Click here for the event website: http://www.euroautofestival.com

For 2016 the Euro will be held on 21 and 22 October. The show is held on Saturday. OnFriday there are several driving tours offered as well as seminars on tires, collector car insurance, detailing, etc. Seminars are free; there's a nominal charge for the tours to cover the cost of lunch. There's also a reception Friday night (fee) and a dinner Saturday night (fee). Advance reserva-tions are required for all the events.

The Embassy Suites holds a block of rooms for a very reasonable price but they go fast soit's imperative that those who want to attend reserve them well in advance. Included in the rate isthe nightly Manager's Reception (drinks and snacks) and a breakfast buffet.

Click here for reservations: http://www.euroautofestival.com/hotel-accomodations

The plan is to drive to Greenville on Oct 20 (Thursday). Greenville is about 400 milesaway and takes about six hours if one sticks to the interstates. Alternative routes are more funbut take longer. Figure an entire day to get there.

Once in Greenville there are several choices to make on what to do for Friday. There are theaforementioned tours, a visit to the BMW factory and museum, the BMW Performance Center,or a visit to Greenville's excellent downtown.

The show is Saturday and only about 100 yards away from the hotel (reserved parking forentrants.)

Sunday (or Saturday night if you wish) is for the drive home.

MG ND - The ND was a special model using unsold MG K2 bodies fitted to the N-Typechassis probably only available in 1934. The number made is uncertain as the model does not

seem to have been officially listed.
