Fuengirola is a lively, bustling town and of f ers many shops,bars, restaurants and one of the biggest and loveliest beacheson the Costa del Sol, but did you know that slap-bang in thecenter of the town you can also f ind one of its most popularattractions?

If you are planning on visit ing the Costa del Sol this summer,why not head to the Fuengirola Bioparc Zoo where you can seea host of birds, mammals and reptiles f rom all over the world.

Formerly known as the Fuengirola Zoo, it has in recent yearsundergone a large amount of work f ocusing on the architecturaldesign of the Zoo. It was also renamed to the “FuengirolaBioparc” as the owners f elt that it best described the experiencein which the visitors are “immersed” into the animalssurroundings which gives you the impression that you are atone with them within their natural habitat.

The Bioparc has three main areas which include Madagascar,Equatorial Af rica and South East Asia. A number of the animals in these areas are considered to be indanger of extinction including one of the most recent edit ions, Geluk the Pygmy Hippopotamus.

If you need a break f rom looking at the animals and need ref reshments, there is a lovely restaurant onof f er selling nice cold drinks and tasty snacks. There is also a shop where you can buy those allimportant souvenirs of your stay and a children’s area to let the litt le ones burn of f some energy.

When Is The Bioparc Zoo Open?

The Fuengirola Bioparc Zoo is open every single day of the year f rom 10am and closes at around 6pm. InJuly and August, the Zoo closes at midnight.

How Much Does It Cost?

Access costs €17.50 f or adults, €12.10 f or children and pensioners over 65.

There are also a number of great discounts f or group bookings and also a 15% discount for families.Please note that you must provide a marriage certif icate but passports may be suf f icient.
