G1. There is objective evidence (from physical and neurological examinationand laboratory tests) and/or history of cerebral disease, damage, ordysfunction, or of systemic physical disorder no!n to cause cerebraldysfunction, including hormonal disturbances (other than alcohol" or otherpsychoactive substance" related) and non"psychoactive drug e#ects.

G$. There is a presumed relationship bet!een the development (or maredexacerbation) of the underlying disease, damage, or dysfunction, and themental disorder, the symptoms of !hich may have immediate onset or maybe delayed.

G%. There is recovery from or signi&cant improvement in the mentaldisorder follo!ing removal or improvement of the underlying presumedcause.

G'. There is insu#icient evidence for an alternative causation of the mentaldisorder, e.g. a strong family history of a clinically similar or relateddisorder.

f criteria Gl, G$, and G' are met, a provisional diagnosis is justi&ed if, inaddition, there is evidence of G%, the diagnosis can be regarded as certain.
