There is a presumed relationship bet!een the development (or mared exacerbation) of the underlying disease, damage, or dysfunction, and the mental disorder, the symptoms of !hich may have immediate onset or may be delayed. G%. There is recovery from or signi&cant improvement in the mental disorder follo!ing removal or improvement of the underlying presumed cause. G'. There is insu#icient evidence for an alternative causation of the mental disorder, e.g. a strong family history of a clinically similar or related disorder. f criteria Gl, G$, and G' are met, a provisional diagnosis is justi&ed if, in addition, there is evidence of G%, the diagnosis can be regarded as certain.
