The Young Professionals Connection will host the 5th Annual Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, May 15th at Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club, located at 8000 Capps Ferry Road in Douglasville. Proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament benefit annual Leadership Scholarships that are presented to local high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and community service potential and to young professionals seeking to continue their education. The YPC Cornhole Tournament is open to teams of all ages.
Players will be vying for the title of tournament champion as well as a $500 cash prize. The double elimination Cornhole Tournament will begin at 11 a.m., with registration beginning at 10 a.m. (pre-registration is required and payment must be received by Monday, May 9, 2016). Due to the nature of Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club, the Cornhole Tournament is a rain or shine event.
WHAT IS CORNHOLE?Cornhole is an easy game played by two teams of two people; some call it “bean bag toss”. Cornhole can be found being played while tailgating for your favorite team or at neighborhood cookout. Players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform with a hole in the far end and points are scored by the beanbag landing on the platform or in the hole. It is an easy, fun game and great for all ages.
For more information about Cornhole, contact Sara Ray at 770.942.5022. Register online at www.douglascountygeorgia.com.
