Who will be the 2013 showgirl?THIS year’s Young Show boasts three

showgirl entrants who are vying for theprestigious 2013 Miss Young Showgirltitle.

Jane Maloney, Bridget Kerr andMadison Brown – all aged 19 – were intro-duced to the community during a meet andgreet night in the main pavilion at theYoung Showground on Saturday night,September 7.

The winning showgirl is selected by apanel of three judges and remains showgirluntil the next year’s show.

Contestants are judged on personality,confidence, ambition and life goals, generalknowledge, rural knowledge, presentationand speech. Finalists must also demonstrate

knowledge of their local community andcurrent affairs. In addition to their potentialambassadorial qualities, contestants arealso judged on their involvement in andexperience of rural affairs.

They will represent the town at zonefinals early next year where a zone repre-sentative for the state final is selected.

The state final for the competition isconducted by the RAS at the Sydney RoyalEaster Show and usually has between 15-18 entrants. Judges are nominated by theRAS with the judging being conductedover a four-day period.

The winner of the 2013 Miss YoungShowgirl competition will be announced at3.30pm on Tuesday at the Young Show.
