Objectives/background

• eni had a multi-well integrated project inAsia Pacific requiring long intervals (somezones over 100 feet) to be perforated

• A global track record with eni meant Exprowere called upon to provide TCP services

• To maximise productivity, 7” 12 SPF BHcharges were selected

• The development wells were drilled fromdrill centres via a 5th generation semi-submersible moored rig in water depths upto 431 meters

• As part of Expro’s pre-job preparation,standard 27/8” EUE threads were identifiedduring high shock modelling as having thepotential to fail given the bottomholeequipment configuration

• Prior to manufacturing, Exprorecommended the threads were changed to31/2” EUE

• Successful completion of all jobs to date

• Project management expertise to integrateTCP, DST, well test, slickline, and subseaoperations – Expro were also able tomobilise start-up operational and supportteams whilst meeting eni’s fastimplementation times from contract award

Value to client

• If modelling had not been performed, thepotential for perforating gun failure on ahigh visibility well could have caused anequipment failure leaving equipmentdownhole, requiring a costly fishingoperation

• Three wells have been completed to date,with up to three zones per well

• 100% of shots fired and no lost time

• Fast track mobilisation meaning eni couldkeep the rig working and not face costlystandby time and idle crews – eni were ableto perforate and test the first two wells asequipment was arriving
