Objectives/background • During a research and development project in Argentina, the operator required analysis of well data on a fracking operation in order to measure performance, and ultimately enable cost savings through operational optimisation and reduction in Non- Productive Time (NPT) • Data from previous wells was deemed inaccurate, so the operator required a solution to enable more comprehensive real-time data analysis Expro Excellence • Expro’s ABP system successfully demonstrated that constant pressure could be held on the well, whilst analysing and logging pressure and fluid properties being pumped into and out of the well • The package was tailored to the client measuring data into and out of the well by providing two custom Coriolis flow meter manifolds that integrated into the ABP system and measured the specific flow rates and fluids, which enabled real-time data analysis • National Argentinian crews were trained to operate the equipment package and on the ABP functionality and system features Value to client • A constant pressure on the well was held successfully, enabling constant and desired pressure within ±10psi with low rates of 1 – 3.5 bpm and high pressures of up to 4,500psi well head pressure • The operator was able to analyse the data received from the ABP system to adjust frac parameters, comparing the past data to and enable efficiencies and improved operational performance • All data was integrated and captured on screen allowing real-time analysis, whilst being logged for instant distribution to remote locations • The pressures held were up to 10 times higher than any operation undertaken to date.
