On the above date Dave Sheldon trom DEMa Divhion ot Croundwater Protection and I met Anna Kraska rom EPA and Joe Moorehead who rents the northwest house at the Picillo Farm Site in Coventry Mr Moorehead allowed us entrance into the house h e rents to inveatiqate the alleqation that his shallow basement well is contabullinated Upon ent ering the base11ent we could smell oil Mr Moorehead removed the cover to the well and we observed a slight oil s heen on the aurtace ot the water Dave took two samples from approxiaately the water surface in the wall We then di scerned that an underground homa heating tank was l oca ted about 25 south ot the well Hr Moorehead stated that Da n s Oil Service ia the company that services the tank In the southwest corne r of the
~baseaant approxiaataly 10 from the residential well was a filled well Mr Moorehead stated that while thi s well was i n use someone poured a chemical called stop l eak into it Whil e on-site Mr Moorehead also stated that the cesspool outlets flow direc tly into the svaap behind the houses I explained to Mr Moorehead that I would contact the Oepartaent of Health and file a complaint about the utter We then left the site and delivered the samples to Rhode Island Analytical for analyses at approximately 1130 AM The aaaplea will be analyzed tor VOCs and they will also tinger print tor the type of oil that maybe i n the well
