Introduction

Overview

This chapter describes the man-machine command interface, basic formats, inputs, and outputs of the commands, and other general information.

The MML client and the foreground server are connected through a network interface. The client and the server can be installed on the same PC.

Running environment of MML commands are explained as follow:

The Windows 2000 Server operating system must be installed and SQL SERVER 2000 database must be installed in the server.

To ensure system performance, the computer must be equipped with:

CPU P4 1.6 GHz

RAM 256 MB above is recommended

Hard Disk 8G in Windows NT system and more than 10G in Windows 2000 system

NIC 10M Ethernet card compatible with NE2000 (including the driver)

Floppy drive One 1.44M floppy drive

CD-ROM One 16 X CD-ROM or above

Monitor 17” Resolution of VGA800x600 or above is recommended

Entering CLI Console Interface

This section describes how to enter CLI Console Interface and explains parameters in it.

Before proceeding, meet the following requirements.

ZTE Unified Management System window is open.

SS1b NE Configuration.

To enter CLI console interface, perform the following actions.

1. Right-click on SS1b NE in folder pane or preview pane; a popup menu appears, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Click on Command line terminal menu item.

Result: It opens CLI Console - SSID=XXXX window, as shown in Figure 2.

Note: XXXX represents device ID. Here it is SS12B in this network.

Tip: User can also open the interface by selecting SS1b NE in folder pane or preview pane and then from menu bar, clicking on Operation > Command line terminal menu item.

Parameters Description: CLI Console Interface has six major sections:

2. Command Line Terminal: This is the section where user writes or imports commands to execute them. It also displays the result of command execution. Figure 5 shows Command Line Terminal.

3. Command List: This section displays all the commands under different nodes. When user clicks on a command, that command is displayed on Command Line Terminal. User can press ENTER key to execute that command after setting its parameters. Figure 6 shows Command List section.

4. History command: This section shows history commands. User can select a command from drop-down list and can press Run command button to run it.

5. Parameters section: This section shows parameters to be entered or selected both in text field display or tabular display depending upon the selection of tab in the section. User can use any display. The parameters appear in this section after user selects a command in Command List section. Figure 8 shows Display in Textfield tab of Parameters section while Figure 9 shows Tabular display tab of Parameters section.

6. Message section: This section displays hint and error messages in Hint Message and Error Message respectively.

Uses and Operations of Man-Machine Commands

When man-machine commands are inputted via the command line, the command names and parameter names are case

insensitive. The command name and the first parameter name must be separated with a colon (:). The parameter name and the parameter must be separated with an equal mark (=). The previous parameter and the next one must be separated with a comma (,). The symbol for ending is a semicolon (;). One can input either the command name or command code, and either the parameter name or parameter number.

For a multiple-parameter command, one can input names for some parameters while numbers for others.

SET_DIFFL:BBL=2,2=2,RACKNO=3,4=0,NO=1,ZERO=0,7=1;.

To use or edit a history command, press the ↑ key at the command line.

After a man-machine command is delivered, no response within a specified period of time (usually one minute) can be considered as timeout, in which case the command timeout prompt message is returned.

Outputs of Man-Machine Commands

When a man-machine command for foreground operation is delivered during the interruption of the communication between foreground and background, the command is not executed, which results in the timeout of the command.

When a command times out, the message Command timed out appears on the interface.

When a command is successfully executed, the execution result of the command appears on the main interface if the command has output, and only the message of execution success is prompted if it has no output.

If the command name or code entered is incorrect, the prompt Invalid command code appears.

If the parameter name entered is incorrect or the parameter is invalid (data type error or out of range, for example), the message Invalid parameter, the incorrect parameter is appears.

If a command is not successfully executed, the message of command execution failure is prompted.
