Around the World in 80 dAYs

JuniorSchool yrs7-9

For centuries humans have used stories to communicate; be it legendary tales of epic hunts, precautionary anecdotes to temper our behaviour, or simply a way to tell others what we have experienced. Storytelling is one of the basic communication tools that we have. This term the seniors will be re-inventing the lost art form of storytelling. We will look at various styles of stories and learn key storytelling techniques to communicate what truly matters. Is it all about the words or are stories something more?

Every Tuesday Evening 7-9pm

Tuesday 17th January – Tuesday 4th April (Excluding half term week: Tuesday 21st February and the Juniors Production week: Tuesday 28th March)

Cost: £80 (Bursaries are available, please ask)

Expect a gentle start to the year - welcoming new members, learning new games, building up our acting ensemble and trying out new skills... Only this term expect fabulous physical theatre too, merry music-making and spell-binding storytelling as we explore classics from the worlds of fantasy and fairy tale. Think Grimm, Goldman, Lewis and Calvino, like you’ve never seen them before! By half term we’ll have made some firm choices and so movement rehearsals, casting, and the usual creative chaos will begin, as we get a head start on Summer 2017’s spectacular new production.
