That is why our scholarships are available for both commencing and current students.

We’re just as excited to welcome you! That’s why we’ve created various scholarships and bursaries that may help you meet your financial needs. Students can access scholarships that recognises community service, financial hardship or in recognition of your academic achievement.

SAVINGS ON YOUR TUITION FEES

If you’ve excelled in your previous study, you could be awarded one of the many Swinburne Sarawak scholarships and bursaries. Generally, the better your grades, the higher the amount will be. And if you continue to do well in your studies, you may also be rewarded pathway scholarships for your next level of study.

• To maintain the CGPA of 3.85 and above for continued 15% fee waiver in subsequent year

• Scholarship is automatically cancelled if the CGPA falls below 3.85.

Student will also be eligible for the Swinburne Sarawak Entrance Grant.

Diploma Pathway Bursarya 15% off the 1st year degree tuition fee Applicable to Swinburne Sarawak diploma students progressing to Swinburne Sarawak degree

Partnership Bursarya 10% off the 1st year degree tuition fee Applicable to Foundation / Diploma graduates from Swinburne’s Credit Transfer Agreement (CTA) partners

Postgraduate by Coursework Bursarya 10% off the total tuition fee Applicable to students enrolled into a Postgraduate by Coursework program

Postgraduate by Coursework Alumni Bursarya 15% off the total tuition fee Applicable to Swinburne alumni enrolled into a Postgraduate by Coursework programs

Swinburne Youth Scholarship Up to RM5,000 off the 1st year tuition fee Applicable to secondary / high school students who are active in school clubs and/or extra-curricular activities

Student will also be eligible for the Swinburne Sarawak Entrance Grant.

School Appreciation Bursary 10% off the 1st year tuition fee Applicable to academic and teaching staff of any school and their children/dependents

Student will also be eligible for the Swinburne Sarawak Entrance Grant.

Sibling Discountb 10% off the 1st year tuition fee The siblings of a Swinburne alumnus and students who are currently enrolled at Swinburne Sarawak

New students will also be eligible for the Swinburne Sarawak Entrance Grant.

Bumiputera Financial Scheme Zero payment while awaiting loan approval from relevant government bodies

Applicable to Sarawakian Bumiputera students applying for study loan from relevant government bodies, and whose monthly household income per capita is not more than RM2,500

Student will also be eligible for the Swinburne Sarawak Entrance Grant. Other Terms and Conditions apply.

Yayasan Sarawak Bumiputera BP40 Bursary Schemea

Tuition fee rebate and a Yayasan Sarawak study loan. Applicable to Sarawakian Bumiputera students whose monthly household income is in the B40 and M40 Category

Other terms and conditions apply.

The grants, scholarships, and bursaries detailed above are for 2021 and correct at the time of printing (February 2021). Eligible students are required to take a standard study load per year. For bachelor courses, there are normally 8 units of study per year. All tuition fees are subject to an annual review and adjustment, and are subject to change.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions are applicable across the range of awards and bursaries offered by Swinburne Sarawak only:

• The availability of award or bursary is subject to a pre-determined quota set by the university

• The award or bursary is only valid for studies at Swinburne Sarawak

• The awarding of the award or bursary is conditional upon payment of full term unless stated otherwise

• The offer of an award or bursary shall be based on the official academic results obtained in a single sitting

• All awards or bursaries are to be given as course tuition fee rebate only and cannot be exchanged for cash

• Award or bursary recipients must continue to study full-time throughout the award or bursary period

• Part-time studies at the postgraduate level are for Malaysian students only

• The recipient of an award or bursary shall maintain a full study load in each term/semester

• Award or bursary recipients shall contribute to Swinburne Sarawak’s activities including participation in promotional activities as and when required, during their period of study

• Successful applicants will be notified via an award/bursary offer letter

• The award or bursary is non-transferable

• The award or bursary shall be forfeited if the student withdraws from the course or transfers to Swinburne Australia

• The award or bursary shall be forfeited if the student fails to abide by the rules and regulations of Swinburne Sarawak

• Once the award or bursary is forfeited, it shall not be reinstated

• A student who has been awarded an award or bursary by Swinburne Sarawak or any other institution shall not be eligible for another award or bursary

• Unless otherwise approved, each student is only entitled to one award, bursary or financial assistance scheme offered by Swinburne Sarawak and its group at any one time. In the event that the student qualifies for more than one award, he/she must choose which of these he/she wishes to apply and accept

• Approval must be obtained from the Registrar of Swinburne Sarawak for leave of absence. The award shall recommence once the recipient resumes his/her studies at Swinburne Sarawak. Failure to obtain approval for leave of absence shall result in the forfeiture of the award/bursary

• Only completed application forms received by the closing date will be entertained

• Swinburne Sarawak shall not be responsible for any application form that is misplaced, lost or failed to reach the designated department of Swinburne Sarawak

• Swinburne Sarawak reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the award or bursary as and when required without prior notice. All decisions in regards to scholarship and/or bursary, including those on matters not covered above are final and binding

• All decisions made by the Swinburne Sarawak Award Committee are final. Appeals will not be entertained.

OUR SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARY

In recognition of your pre-university achievements, your application for enrolment into Swinburne Sarawak will be assessed for eligibility to our range of scholarships and bursaries. Applicants who are eligible for a scholarship or bursary will be notified via an official Scholarship Offer letter.

YAYASAN SARAWAK (SARAWAK FOUNDATION) Yayasan Sarawak also offers Sarawakian students a range of scholarship and education loans for continuing studies in private higher education institutions. For more information, visit yayasansarawak.org.my

INTEREST-FREE PAYMENT PLAN For students who are unable to secure any scholarships or bursary from us, you may opt to pay your tuition fees over ten interest-free instalments annually. A processing fee of RM100 will be charged when you apply. This plan is available to all students pursuing their foundation, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs. I was awarded a scholarship that made my education atainable, from which I am able to accomplish much of what I never thought possible. On top of gaining quality Australian education, I can also take any of the professional courses offered by Swinburne Sarawak while studying for my bachelor’s degree.
